Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market headquartered in New York. US residents in 47 states + D.C. can fund accounts in USD and trade soccer event contracts (our editorial policy is 21+). Whether states may apply their gambling laws to sports contracts is disputed in court: at the preliminary stage the Third Circuit sided with Kalshi (April 6, 2026) while the Ninth (August 28) and Sixth (September 25) Circuits sided with the states, and petitions asking the Supreme Court to take up the question are pending (as of October 1, 2026).
