Bundesliga Prediction Markets: Matchday 1 2026/27

Quick answer

The Bundesliga 2026/27 season opens on Friday 28 August with reigning double winners Bayern Munich hosting VfB Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena, and matchday 1 runs through Sunday 30 August. The most traded German contracts are match winner (3-way) and over/under 2.5 goals — the goals market ranks higher here than in any other big-five league — followed by the Torjägerkanone top-scorer book, where Harry Kane is chasing a fourth straight title.

Germany is the league where the outright market is close to settled and everything interesting happens underneath it. Bayern have won thirteen of the last fourteen titles and arrive off a domestic double, which means the Meisterschale contract is a low-yield position for most of the season. The liquidity that would sit on a title race elsewhere goes instead into match-level goals lines, the top-four scramble and the scorer books. Opening weekend is when all three are priced with the least information.

Fri 28 Aug · 14:30 ETBayern Munich vs VfB StuttgartThe traditional Friday opener at the champion's ground, and a rerun of both the title-deciding fixture and the DFB-Pokal final Bayern won. Bayern will be the shortest home price of the entire matchday — the tradeable legs are the goals line and Harry Kane's scorer contract, not the winner.
Sat 29 Aug · TBC ETUnion Berlin vs Eintracht FrankfurtFrankfurt sold Nathaniel Brown to Bayern and open away at the league's most awkward host. An Der Alten Försterei suppresses goals more than the market's standard home adjustment allows for.
Sat 29 Aug · TBC ETRB Leipzig vs Borussia MönchengladbachLeipzig's book is the most model-friendly in Germany: high press, high total, favourite at home. If any non-Bayern fixture prices an over correctly on day one, it is this one.
Sat 29 Aug · TBC ETMainz 05 vs SC PaderbornA promoted side in round one. Relegation contracts move hardest off games like this, and August pricing on newly promoted clubs is close to pure narrative.
Sat 29 Aug · TBC ETSV Elversberg vs Bayer LeverkusenLeverkusen away to a small-ground host is the archetypal big-club overpay. The market habitually shades these too short and the draw leg trades cheap.

These five matchday 1 fixtures are confirmed by the DFL. The remaining Saturday and Sunday pairings, including Borussia Dortmund’s opener, are being finalised for broadcast slots — we will add them here once the full grid is published. Live cent prices for every fixture are on the Bundesliga hub and in weekend predictions.

Which Bundesliga prediction markets are most popular?

The German order differs from England’s in two ways: the goals market climbs to second, and the title outright drops below the top scorer book. Both follow directly from Bayern’s dominance and the league’s scoring rate.

#MarketWhereWhy it trades
1Match winner (3-way)Kalshi · PolymarketThe default matchday contract — home / draw / away, each priced 0–100¢ with no overround. Bayern fixtures take the bulk of German per-game volume.
2Over / under 2.5 goalsKalshi · PolymarketRanked second here, higher than in any other big-five league. The Bundesliga scores more goals per game than England, Spain or Italy, so the over is the default retail position and the fade is the edge.
3Torjägerkanone (top scorer)PolymarketHarry Kane has won it three seasons running, most recently with 36 goals — 17 clear of the runner-up. That makes the headline contract expensive and the second-name contracts the only real market.
4Bundesliga title (Meisterschale)Kalshi · PolymarketDeep but compressed: Bayern have won 13 of the last 14. The tradeable question is rarely who wins, it is how far the field's combined price should sit above zero.
5Champions League qualification (top four)PolymarketWhere the German title money actually goes. Leverkusen, Leipzig, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Hoffenheim chase three places behind Bayern, and the book stays liquid all season.
6Both teams to scorePolymarketStructurally more expensive in Germany than elsewhere, because open games and high defensive lines produce fewer clean sheets than the market's cross-league default assumes.
7Relegation / relegation playoffPolymarketGermany's playoff spot creates a third contract the other big-five leagues don't have, and it is consistently the least efficiently priced book on the German board.
8DFB-Pokal winnerPolymarketQuiet until the winter rounds, then inefficient — heavy rotation and lower-league hosts are far harder to model than league form.

Popular teams and the players who move their prices

ClubNames carrying the volumeMarket read
Bayern MunichHarry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, Jamal Musiala Kane marketsThe reigning double winners and the anchor of every German market. Kane's scorer contract is the most liquid player market in the Bundesliga, and Bayern's winner price is so short that the goals line carries the actual trade.
Bayern Munich (midfield)Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich Musiala marketsMusiala is the one Bayern name whose availability moves the club's whole book. His assist and scorer contracts reprice on team news faster than any other German market.
Bayer LeverkusenFacundo Medina, Miguel Gutiérrez, Florian Wirtz (market benchmark) Wirtz marketsThe club the market still prices as Bayern's most credible challenger. Their top-four contract is the most reliable German season-long position, and new full-back money changes their defensive profile more than the price reflects.
Borussia DortmundEmre Can (captain), Konstantinos Karetsas, Serhou GuirassyThe most volatile book in Germany. Dortmund's results swing week to week, which makes their match-winner price wide and their over/under number the most consistently mispriced on the board.
RB LeipzigMaxime Estève, Xavi Simons, Benjamin Šeško (market benchmark)The most model-friendly German side: pressing, transitional, high-total. Their fixtures are where the over is priced closest to fair, so the value lives in the winner leg instead.
VfB StuttgartDeniz Undav, Angelo StillerUndav finished runner-up in the 2025/26 scoring race with 19 goals and is the only realistic non-Bayern Torjägerkanone contract. Stuttgart open at the Allianz, so his day-one scorer price is inflated by matchup rather than form.
Eintracht FrankfurtNathaniel Brown (sold to Bayern), Hugo Ekitiké profile successorsFrankfurt sell a headline name almost every summer and the market underrates the replacement every time. Their top-four contract is the cheapest credible one in Germany in August.

Why the Bundesliga prices differently

  1. A settled title market. Bayern’s thirteen titles in fourteen years mean the outright often opens above 70¢. That is a long, capital-heavy hold for a thin return, and it is why German season-long money concentrates on top four and relegation instead.
  2. More goals than anywhere else. The Bundesliga out-scores the other big-five leagues, and everyone knows it. The over is therefore usually fully priced by kickoff — the repeatable edge is the under in fixtures the crowd assumes will be open.
  3. One dominant scorer. Kane’s 36-goal season and three straight Torjägerkanonen make the favourite contract expensive and the field cheap. Undav at 19 goals is the only rival with a real claim, so the second-name contracts are where the pricing is loose.
  4. A relegation playoff. Germany’s 16th-place playoff creates a contract with no equivalent in England, Spain or Italy, and it is consistently the least efficiently priced book on the German board.

How to read the prices

  1. Cents are probability. A 60¢ contract is a 60% chance — 1.67 decimal, -150 American. No margin to strip out first.
  2. Check what the book sums to. A prediction-market 1X2 sums near 100¢; the sportsbook version of the same market sums to 105–120%, and that gap is house margin you never pay here. More in prediction markets vs sportsbooks.
  3. Trade the hour before kickoff. Confirmed lineups drop roughly 60 minutes out. Bayern rotate heavily in August, and a Kane or Musiala absence moves their whole book.
  4. Fade August overreactions. One matchweek is three points out of 102. Top-four and relegation contracts routinely move double digits after a single result.

Frequently asked questions

When does the 2026/27 Bundesliga season start?

Matchday 1 runs from Friday 28 August through Sunday 30 August 2026. Bayern Munich host VfB Stuttgart in the traditional Friday-night opener at the Allianz Arena, as reigning champions.

Which Bundesliga prediction markets are most popular?

Match winner (3-way) takes the most per-game volume, followed by over/under 2.5 goals — which ranks higher in Germany than in any other big-five league. Then Torjägerkanone (top scorer), the Meisterschale outright, top-four qualification, both teams to score, relegation and the DFB-Pokal.

Who won the Bundesliga in 2025/26?

Bayern Munich, their 35th German championship and 13th in 14 seasons, clinched on matchday 30 with a 4-2 win over Stuttgart in April 2026. They completed the domestic double by beating Stuttgart again in the DFB-Pokal final.

Can you trade Bundesliga markets on Kalshi?

Yes. Kalshi lists Bundesliga match-winner and season-long contracts as a CFTC-regulated exchange, available in 47 US states plus D.C.. It is 21+ only.

Who is favourite for the Bundesliga top scorer market?

Harry Kane, who has won the Torjägerkanone three seasons in a row and scored 36 goals in 2025/26, 17 clear of runner-up Deniz Undav. His contract is priced accordingly, so most of the tradeable value sits on the second and third names.

Why does the over trade so heavily in German markets?

The Bundesliga has produced more goals per game than the other big-five leagues for years, and retail money knows it. That means the over is often already fully priced by kickoff, and the structural edge is on the under in low-total fixtures rather than the over in high-total ones.

How do I convert a Bundesliga contract price into odds?

The cent price is the implied probability. A 60¢ contract implies a 60% chance, which is 1.67 in decimal odds or -150 American. Prediction-market books sum close to 100%, so there is no bookmaker margin to strip out first.
